The Chippiparai has typical streamlined sighthound features with long legs and a lean and lithe frame built for speed. The breed is usually white in colour, although other colours can be found. It averages 61 centimetres (24 in) in height at the withers, dogs averaging 63 centimetres (25 in) and bitches 56 centimetres (22 in).A hardy breed, the Chippiparai is reputed to prefer a single master, shunning food and pats from anyone except its handler.The Chippiparai is often regarded as the most intelligent and biddable of India's native dog breeds.

Kombai





The Kombai is described as a broad, short, muscular, powerful and athletic dog that stands around 58 centimetres (23 in). They have a short, smooth coat that is usually light brown to dark red in colour, and a black muzzle. They have dark eyes, the mid-length ears with bent tips, and a fine muzzle. The breed has a broad, slightly haired tail that is carried over their back resembling a sickle.

Rajapalayam






The Rajapalayam Hound, also known as the Polygar Hound or Indian Ghost Hound, is a southern Indian dog breed.[2][3][4] The breed is named after Rajapalayam, a town in the Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu.

Kanni



The Kanni (கன்னி), meaning pure (also known as the Maiden's Beastmaster), is a rare indigenous South Indian sighthound breed of dog found in the state of Tamil Nadu. Their native breeding tract is located around villages in the Tirunelveli, Virudhunagar and Thoothukudi districts. The breed is used mainly for coursing. "Kanni" refers to the black and tan and black and sable varieties, while the solid-coloured variety is known as the Chippiparai. However, some experts claim that the Kanni and the Chippiparai are distinct breeds.
